Dean has been instrumental in the creation and success of several local treatment centers specializing in adolescent treatment, substance abuse recovery, emotional management and life coaching.
Dean's desire to help others resulted in the creation of "The Value Based Parenting" classes, workshops, and CDs, giving parents knowledge and tools to motivate their children using love for a mindset; it is a positive and affirming way to teach healthy boundaries, which children will use to govern themselves as they get older. Born and raised in Utah, Dean enjoys spending time with his wife and children, rock climbing, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle.
Looking to relieve her emotional pain and discomfort, Leah turned to TurningLeaf Emotional Growth Seminars in 2008. Leah found strength, and courage to continue on her journey, and now is passionate with helping others to do the same. The beginning of 2013, Leah officially became apart of the Seminar team as a Seminar Coordinator. In between Seminars, Leah enjoys being part of the office staff, and assisting in adult and teen workshops and teaching our parenting classes.
Originally a California girl, Leah, moved to the St. George area with her family while in high school. She later returned to Dixie State University to complete her education. She fell in love with the red rocks, great people, and community. She couldn't think of a better place to raise her three sons. Leah enjoys being involved with her boys sports, the Utah landscape, and spending time with her boys, family, and friends.
Anaseini Liumeitupou Wright, or Pou (pronounced, "Bo”)
Pou earned her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. However, her true passion for the past 20 years has always been working with at-risk youth in and out of residential treatment facilities. She began as a youth worker, working her way into the position of Residential/Program Director at two different times before becoming the Program Director for the CHOICE program. Pou is also a Value Based Parenting Coach, an Emotional Growth Seminar staff member, and a Mandt Certified trainer (2004-2005).
Pou's passion for helping people realize their value and worth has brought hope and direction to those she has mentored, inspiring many to see the value in shifting the direction of their lives. Her solid work ethic, integrity and fierce commitment to strong leadership is evident in her ability to create and empower strong teams who bring out the best in themselves and those they work with. Pou knows that those who are working to better themselves and their relationships, this dedication shows up in the work they do.
Pou loves the challenge that comes along with working with at-risk youth. Some of her favorite quotes are, "find your value from within," and "unconditional love can only be experienced when you have unconditional acceptance of self first." Her loyalty and commitment to the team and her desire to move forward create a strong foundation for Pou to bring stability and care to the CHOICE program. Pou is an advocate for kids and understands the importance of their voice being heard. Her open and accepting attitude encourages those around her to let go, be who they are, and have fun learning.
Pou is known for her laugh - she laughs easily and loudly and her enthusiasm is contagious. She sees the interesting and fun aspects of life, showing the youth that finding the positive in situations can shift perspectives and make their whole journey more enjoyable. "You work hard, you play hard," is a motto Pou shares with the kids and lives by example. By following through on her own advice, Pou inspires kids to be accountable for following through on the things they say they will do also.
Pou has a unique ability to relate to the kids she works with, drawing upon her own childhood and young adulthood experiences. Born in San Mateo, California and raised in San Bruno, California, Pou is the youngest in a family of three brothers and one sister. Pou values being a mom and is an example of strength and dedication to her four beautiful children.
Teri Iverson is an Energy Facilitator using The Carolyn Cooper SimplyHealed Method which blends the art of healing with cutting-edge research. SimplyHealed is a graceful approach to healing that clears negative emotions on all levels in an easy, non-invasive way.
Teri became involved with emotional growth seminars 15 years ago and loves the being a part of peoples healing journey to remember their true gifts. She specializes in working with athletes to reach their potential, people facing addiction issues, and connections with adoptive families. She also has experience in helping people release many different diverse traumas such as Domestic Violence, generational issues (repairing flaws in emotional DNA which could have been in family lineage for many generations), self esteem issues, and helping clients reenergize their businesses.
Teri has a varied background working in teen treatment and also in the non-profit sector for years. She has her BS degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology; she was trained in “Love and Logic parenting style, A Kundalini Yoga Teacher, trained as a doula to assist women in a positive birth experience.
Teri has been on various boards such as, Utah Business and Professional Women Board, Leadership Dixie Board, Red Rock Rotary Board for 9 years (starting an Interact Club at Dixie High School), Washington County Human Services Board chair, She was born and raised in St. George, UT and has lived briefly in Alaska, Wyoming, Colorado and Salt Lake City, UT. She is most proud of her 3 beautiful children and her 3 beautiful grandchildren (she loves being a Namae). She loves to write, bake, do yoga, spend time in Pine Valley under our tree, go to movies, but mostly spend time with her family and friends.
Jamie brings to TurningLeaf a wealth of experience in working with children and adults. Often described as a diplomatic, fun and relaxed individual, Jamie excels at working with people to help them feel at ease with themselves and identify their value and talents within.
Jamie joined the TurningLeaf team after being transformed during TurningLeaf's Emotional Growth Seminars and became certified as a Value Based Life Coach in 2009. Her involvement in the community and at church allows her to continue to spread the message and tools that have been provided to her. Married for 13 years, Jaime and her husband are raising 4 children in Michigan. Jaime uses her personal time to enjoy the sun and nice weather, either at the beach or in the yard with her family.
James has worked in treatment centers for 10+ years. He has attended Dixie State College and Utah Valley University and has plans to obtain his LMFT in Psychology. His passion for helping others receive the treatment they need has motivated him to pave the way for others to experience that same sense of relief and accomplishment.
James attended the four levels of TurningLeaf's seminars (some multiple times) and now works as a Team leader at the back table during events. He travels with our team to other states when needed and enjoys learning the tools shared at events to implement into his own life.
James is happily married and the oldest of five children. He grew up in St. George, UT. James feels blessed to have grown up in such a beautiful, small town where he attended school, and where he has discovered a career he loves, helping adolescents and adults.
By far, James considers his son his greatest accomplishment and works toward being a good example for him in every way. When James isn't inspiring and supporting others, he loves spending time with his son, nephews and nieces. He always makes time to incorporate play into his life, and you may find him playing basketball or Xbox in his spare time.
